I’ve bumped The Erudite to version 1.4 today. This release adds the ability to turn off the dynamic header and footer, and adds a few small typographic fixes surrounding the display of nested lists.
You can download this release over at the project page, or from the WP.org themes directory whenever they update it.

I’m running The Erudite on a WordPressMU install, and it seems to get pretty confused about who the author of posts is. Sometimes it chooses the author who has my ID+1, other times it doesn’t even know whom to choose for an author. Any idea on what might be the issue?
Hi, I am trialling Erudite on this new version and am needing to reduce the wide spacing below the entry content. I am not seeing if it is the Entry Content or Footer/footer Toggle padding or margining. Are you able to advise where I can reduce this wide spacing.
Hi! I was just wondering if you’re planning some updates. Your thems is so good that one always expects some further goodies!
@Maurizio No plans at the moment, as I’ve been quite busy with client work. Hopefully time and inspiration will collide at some point.
i am running erudite now (over from white as milk) and i’m very happy except that i’d like to plug a small image next to the title…how do i do this? (it’s a jpeg) cheers and thanks so much!

sorry — realised you had already covered that comment on images in the header earlier. thanks for this theme — really grows on me all the time. and my readers love it, too.
@finnegan Glad you’re finding it useful in your writing. Good luck with NaNoWriMo!
i’ve got another question — perhaps this one can be answered without too much CSS — where do i change the font (type) of the blog title? cheers! (and thanks for the NaNoWriMo wishes — it’s fun!)
@finnegan have a peek in erudite.css and look for Gill Sans — it’s the title/heading font throughout.
thanks very much for your help — found it. cheers
