In a stroke of genius, Wern­er Lem­berg has start­ed the ttfau­to­hint project, which repur­pos­es FreeType’s auto­hint­ing sys­tem to auto­mat­i­cal­ly hint True­Type fonts for improved Win­dows ren­der­ing.
